How the time is worked out

Time = distance × pace. At 6'00/km, a 10K takes 10 × 6 minutes, i.e. 1:00:00. A half marathon at 5'30/km takes about 1:56.

The maths assumes an even pace from start to finish. In real life, hills, wind, heat and drink stations often add a few minutes.
